Nach intensiven Vorarbeiten unter Einbindung beider Betriebsräte und von Datenschutzexpert:innen wird die Universität Graz ab Sommersemester 2023 allen Ihren Mitarbeitenden und Studierenden Zoom zur Verfügung stellen. Damit ist ein weiterer wichtiger Baustein gelegt, um die digitale Kommunikation der Uni Graz zu verbessern. Dazu wurde eine umfassende Education Site Lizenz von Zoom implementiert, das aktuell das weltweite führende Videokonferenz- und Kollaborations-System ist. 89 der weltweit Top-100 Universitäten verwenden bereits Zoom.
- Mit der Education Site Lizenz von Zoom können Mitarbeitende und Studierende ein breites Angebot an Funktionen nutzen. Dazu zählen Sitzungen, Konferenzen oder auch Webinare mit bis zu 1000 Teilnehmenden.
- Zur Verfügung stehen weiters Funktionen wie „Zoom Rooms“, das eine Videozusammenarbeit vom Starten von Sitzungen über das Buchen eines Raums bis hin zur Freigabe von Inhalten ermöglicht.
- Mit „Zoom Translated Captions“ können Benutzer:innen die Sprache in einer Konferenz oder Lehrveranstaltung automatisch und in Echtzeit in Untertitel in einer anderen Sprache übersetzen lassen.
Markus Fallenböck, Vizerektor für Personal und Digitalisierung, sowie Christian Marzluf, Leiter der uniIT, freuen sich über das neue Angebot: „Mit Zoom können wir unseren Mitarbeitenden und Studierenden das weltweit beliebteste System in diesem Segment als weitere Option anbieten. Mit seinen Funktionen ergänzt es das bestehende Portfolio von uniMEET und Webex. Hinzu kommt – aktuell wichtiger denn je – eine Alternative, die den laufenden Betrieb absichert.“

Zoom ist ab sofort auf über 5000 gemanagten PCs/Notebooks im Software-Center verfügbar.
Wenn Sie Zoom nutzen wollen, wird der Dienst mit Doppelklick sofort installiert und ist zwei Minuten später voll nutzbar. Zoom wird auch auf den Hörsaal-PCs verfügbar sein.

After intensive preparation work involving both employee’s councils and data protection experts, the University of Graz will make Zoom available to all its employees and students from the summer semester of 2023. This is another important step towards improving digital communication at the University of Graz. For this purpose, a comprehensive education site licence of Zoom was implemented, which is currently the world's leading video conferencing and collaboration system. 89 of the world's top 100 universities already use Zoom.
- With Zoom's Education Site Licence, staff and students can use a wide range of features. These include meetings, conferences and webinars with up to 1000 participants.
- There are also functions such as "Zoom Rooms", which enables video collaboration from starting sessions to booking a room to sharing content.
- With "Zoom Translated Captions", users can have the language in a conference or course automatically translated into subtitles in another language in real time.

Zoom is now available on over 5000 managed PCs/notebooks in the Software Centre.
If you want to use Zoom, double-clicking will install the service immediately and it will be fully usable two minutes later. Zoom will also be available on the lecture hall PCs.
