Gesellschaftlich relevante Forschung verständlich vermitteln – genau darauf zielen die neuen Workshop-Formate, die die 7. Fakultät organisiert, ab. Sie wurden speziell für Wissenschaftler:innen entwickelt, die ihre Skills für Wissenschaftskommunikation erweitern und ihre Forschung einem breiteren Publikum zugänglich machen möchten.
Zum Beispiel vermittelt der Workshop „Science Communication on Social Media“ Grundlagen zur wirkungsvollen Kommunikation wissenschaftlicher Inhalte über soziale Medien. Die Teilnehmer:innen erfahren, wie sie Plattformen wie Instagram oder LinkedIn gezielt nutzen können, um unterschiedliche Zielgruppen effektiv anzusprechen und ihre eigene Rolle als Wissenschaftskommunikator:in zu definieren. Und die kostenlose Schulung „Mit Fakten gegen Fakes: Wissenschaft sicher kommunizieren” ermöglicht Wissenschaftler:innen der Universität Graz sich fundiert mit den Herausforderungen von Desinformation und Fake News auseinanderzusetzen.

Conveying socially relevant research in an understandable way – that is precisely the aim of the new workshop formats organised by the 7th Faculty. They have been developed specifically for researchers who want to expand their communication skills and make their research accessible to a wider audience.
For example, the workshop "Science Communication on Social Media" teaches the basics of effective communication of scientific content via social media. Participants learn how to use platforms such as Instagram or LinkedIn to effectively address different target groups and define their own role as science communicators. And the free training course "Facts against fakes: communicating science safely" enables academics at the University of Graz to deal with the challenges of disinformation and fake news in a well-founded manner.
