Die Josef Krainer-Preise würdigen Persönlichkeiten, die sich durch herausragende Leistungen und außergewöhnliches Engagement hervorgetan haben. Wo sich jetzt eine riesige Grube auftut, wird schon bald das Graz Center of Physics in die Höhe wachsen. Für die nächsten Bauabschnitte wird mehr Platz benötigt. Ab sofort bleibt daher der Vorplatz des Hauptgebäudes gesperrt. Er wird als Abstellfläche für Baugeräte, Material und Betonmischfahrzeuge benötigt. Ab Ende Mai wird zudem die an der Halbärthgasse gelegene Wiese Teil des Baufelds werden. >> mehr erfahren
Where there is now a huge pit, the Graz Center of Physics will soon be rising into the air. More space is needed for the next construction phases. Therefore, the forecourt of the main building will remain closed from now on. It is needed as a storage area for construction equipment, material and concrete mixing vehicles. From the end of May, the meadow on Halbärthgasse will also become part of the construction site. >> read more

Erklären
Wissenschaftsskepsis, Demokratiefeindlichkeit und Fake News zeigen: Forschung muss verständlich erklärt werden. Die Universität Graz öffnet sich daher im Rahmen der 7. Fakultät für alle Interessierten – mit Workshops, dem Uni-Museum und dem Offenen Labor Graz. Neu ist „In interessanten Zeiten – der Talk der 7. Fakultät“, der zweimal pro Semester einlädt und den Austausch zwischen Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft fördern soll. Gestartet wird am Montag, dem 28. April um 17:30 Uhr im Unicorn. Skepticism of science, hostility to democracy and fake news show that research must be explained in an understandable way. The University of Graz is therefore opening up to all interested parties as part of the 7th Faculty – with workshops, the Uni-Museum and the Open Laboratory Graz. A new addition is ‘In Interesting Times – the 7th Faculty Talk’, which invites people to attend twice a semester and is intended to promote the exchange between science and society. Und Schauplatz legendärer Feste: Die ehemalige Vorklinik, die mittlerweile für das hochmoderne Graz Center of Physics Platz gemacht hat. Klaus Grill, Projektmanager der Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft, hat den spektakulären Abbruch des Hochhauses aus den 1970er-Jahren mit der Kamera begleitet. Die besten 50 Fotos kann man vom 1. bis 30. And the setting for legendary parties: the former pre-clinic, which has now made way for the ultra-modern Graz Center of Physics. Klaus Grill, project manager at Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft, captured the spectacular demolition of the 1970s high-rise on camera. Am 23. Mai 2025 ist es so weit: Der Campus der Universität Graz wird zum Zentrum der Veranstaltung Uni Vibes – das Fest, das Grenzen überwindet. In Zusammenarbeit mit La Strada Graz nähern sich zahlreiche Künstler:innen gemeinsam mit Wissenschaftler:innen dem Thema Grenzen aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven. On 23 May 2025, the campus of the University of Graz will become the centre of the event Uni Vibes – the festival that transcends borders. In collaboration with La Strada Graz, numerous artists and scientists will approach the topic of borders from different perspectives.
